There is a time to take responsibility for your actions.
There is a time to think about how you contributed to a bad situation.
But.
Sometimes, someone did something bad to you.
Sometimes, someone got in your way.
Sometimes, someone damaged you.
Sometimes, you're the victim.
And that's okay.
You can drop the burden.
The problem can be someone else.
You don't always have to carry the blame.
When you blame yourself for everything and give no responsibility to outside factors, it can be dishonest. When you don't acknowledge every variable it's hard to move forward with clarity. You get stuck because you're not processing the true information.
We don't want to say:
"Well they did this to me and now everything is ruined forever and there's nothing I can do."
But we can say:
"Well, this happened as a result as something out of my control. I see that and I have feelings about it. But once I process this, how do I regain control and move forward?"
Does that feel better?
Breathe.
Today, it's not you.
Even though you will get past this, today it's them.
And that's more than okay.
