If right now this instant, you checked your individual bank account and saw that you had 10 billion dollars to call your own, what would you do?
Where would you go?
What would change?
What would you stop doing?
What would you stop caring about?
What/who would you stop tolerating?
How would you begin to take care of yourself?
This is a question I like to use as a guide and an indicator to tell me if I'm living my life the way I want to or if I'm just being dragged about by random circumstances.
By answering this question for yourself you find out a lot about your true desires, independent of circumstances that you feel chained by. And the great news is that you can use your answer to help begin steering yourself in the right direction.
If in this thought exercise you discovered that you would leave an unfulfilling and unhappy relationship, maybe you can do that today?
If you discovered that you would immediately pack your bags and take a never-ending luxury trip around the world but you don't have a passport, maybe you should get one now and begin researching all of the places in the world you want to visit.
This tiny shift in thought and action can really redirect you toward where you really want to be. But don't be scared or intimidated by what you find. If you discover that you want to be a teacher when you've been an accountant for years, that's okay. You haven't wasted your time, and it is never too late to pivot. Don't become overwhelmed, just begin to gently explore the new path.
Unleash your dreams.
