tend to your inner child

Hi
:)

I'm going to bed early today but I didn't want to end the day without sharing a thought or two.

First, I'll share something I've learned many times...

If I don't get enough sleep, I will feel bad.

I'll repeat that.

If I don't get enough sleep, I will feel bad.

Very simple but very important. So many of us don't get enough sleep, and then we wonder why we aren't feeling our best.

Sleep is crucial. Make sure you're taking time to learn about sleep hygiene and work out a routine that helps you feel your best. I'm still perfecting my sleep schedule but I'm good at getting the amount of hours that I need. I don't drink caffeine so when I don't get enough rest for a night or two I really feel it.

As I'm getting ready for a long night of rest and looking at my teddy bear, I'm reminded of how important it is to take care of the child within us. Our inner child never goes away no matter what life throws at us. Blending our adult personalities and responsibilities with a childlike playfulness keeps the magic and wonder in our life.

You might not believe you have an inner child.

Maybe you can't hear your inner child.

Your inner child might require healing.

Whatever the relationship is, I encourage you to pay attention to the kid within you. What did you think was fun when you were younger? Does that activity still sound fun today? Do you want to build a treehouse or jump on a trampoline? Whatever it is, go do it! Play laser tag, watch Saturday morning cartoons with a box of cereal or play pretend with your friends. These activities will offer you a sense of relief and joy that adult life can't always provide.

Follow the fun!
