you won't know until you try

I've been bouncing a new idea around in my head for a couple of days. I want to implement a new practice that promises to improve my quality of life but I feel the fear and hesitation that comes along with an adventure into the unknown.

One day while she was mending a sweater and I was reading a book about lost pirates, a very cool and wise woman I was working for gave me a piece of wisdom that I fall back on more and more often these days. She said:

You have to try it.

You won't know until you try. That was her message. She was talking about trying things you've never done before. Good things, salacious things and everything in between.

You can live in your heads for months weighing the pros and cons of trying something new and analyzing the risks, or you can just try it.

  1. I suspect that most times , we tend to hold ourselves back from what we have the potential to achieve and possess , because if doubts others have sown into our brain. To try is to defy the very protection that keeps you from making mistakes, but if you do not make mistakes, how do you grow and teach others from your experience . I agree, you should always try, regardless of outcome, it’s all about perspective
